This new edition of the joint webinar series organised by POLIS and ALICE will explore flexible solutions for urban deliveries.
POLIS and ALICE are launching a renewed webinar series on urban logistics, aimed exclusively at their members. The series brings together policy experts, thought leaders, innovators, and practitioners to exchange best practices and discuss innovative approaches to tackling last-mile logistics challenges.
As urban populations continue to grow and urban flows intensify, cities face increasing pressure to balance the needs of mobility, logistics, and public space. Traditional zoning and infrastructure models, often designed for static, single-purpose uses, struggle to accommodate the evolving demands of urban logistics and dynamic public life. This mismatch can lead to congestion, inefficiencies, and conflicts over the use of limited urban space, particularly in dense city environments.
To address these challenges, cities need to adopt innovative and flexible approaches that allow logistics activities to coexist with public functions while preserving the quality, accessibility, and liveability of urban spaces for residents, pedestrians, businesses, and delivery operators.
This webinar will explore practical strategies for integrating logistics functions into the urban fabric, focusing on solutions that optimise space use without compromising the quality of public areas. Key topics include:
The session will showcase real-world examples and lessons learned from cities that have piloted these solutions within the EU-funded projects GRETA and DISCO. Participants will gain practical insights into how these initiatives are advancing sustainable urban logistics through collaboration, digitalisation, and community engagement.
