In partnership with NAPCORE, this tutorial explores the Service Interface for Real-Time Information (SIRI) standard.
Listed in the MMTIS Delegated Regulation, SIRI provides a means to exchange dynamic data on public transport from passenger information to operational needs. For cities and regions, it is a powerful and comprehensive standard to organise the data exchange between all their operators and relevant IT-based systems, to support their own real-time passenger information systems with richer information, and to feed open data at all levels. SIRI field of application covers multimodal travel information as well as all dynamic information about Public transport (from buses to shared bikes).
By attending this tutorial, the audience will have the opportunity to:
This session is designed for urban mobility and transport planners who need to understand how data standards can support integrated planning and decision-making. It will also be relevant for public transport authorities and planners working on service planning, multimodal information, and MaaS integration and for data and digitalisation teams within municipalities or regions who support the technical infrastructure for mobility data exchange. The webinar is also intended for the policy officers and programme managers who oversee compliance with EU regulations (ITS Directive, TEN-T, EMDS, etc.) and need to understand the implications of standards for their city.
The session is designed for an introductory to low-Intermediate audience: having a general knowledge of public transport and urban mobility data flows will be a plus but there is no need to have any knowledge in the standard.
